6. Working with the simulation
Now you are all set to go to the simulation visualization view. On the top navigation bar, switch to the home view.
You will be asked to run setup sequence. A setup sequence is a function that configures the parameters of a simulation model, preparing the system with initial conditions and making it ready to run. Click Run and wait till sequence will finish.
Simulation items
Depending on the scenario, you'll find items from the table below.
Icon | Element | How to interact |
---|---|---|
| Breakers | Use the right mouse button to toggle the breaker between open and closed. Pressing the scroll button will put you into force mode, allowing you to control the breakers over the controls. |
| Battery, Loads, Mains, PV | To set the values for load, mains, battery or pv click on them with the left mouse button. This will then open a panel into which you can enter the appropriate values. |
| easYgen, easyI, GC, LS6 | For all types of devices, it is possible to overwrite the values of digital inputs. To do this, press the left mouse button on the device, a list of all DIs will be displayed. To overwrite the value of a DI click on the name DI_X to switch between 0/1 values. |
| Genset, diode, lines | Read only elements |
Exercise:
As an exercise, let's try an experiment.
Set Load:
Active power: 10kW
Reactive power: 10kW
Set Mains:
Voltage: 400V
Frequency: 50Hz
Set Load Breaker (LB)
Close breaker
Set easYgen
Activate DI_6 - Release MCB
Wait around 30 seconds and observe simulation.
Set Mains:
Voltage: 0V
Frequency: 0Hz
Wait around 30 seconds and observe simulation.
After all the steps, Generator 1 should start to turn off, Mainc Circuit Breaker (MCB) should close and Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) should open. In this way, we manually switched the power supply to the mains. Then when the voltage on the Mains drops, easyGen should automatically start the generator back up, and switch power to the generator. The scenario after all steps should look more or less like this:
